Another week in for the books!
The meetings with Sk8forGr8 have been tremendously successful. The upcoming event with them is fixed, time and location set and the participating kids listed. Collaborating with Sk8forGr8 gives us the great opportunity to not only concentrate on sports talents but support creative heads as well by executing workshops in photography, design and creative writing with them. Sandra will host one of the workshops in May (Photography of course) and can’t wait to see the world through the kids lenses.
As fresh air does best to a thinking brain Alister and Sandra combined the latest meeting with a little hike on Lions Head to have a detailled chat about the strategy and organisation of Bloodsister. When reaching the top they literally stumbled over local Pro Trail Runner Kane Riley and introduced him to our foundation as well.
On Sunday Sibo reached another milestone in his running career with competing at the Jonkershoek Mountain Challenge together with our local hero and ultra runner Alister and Salomon sponsored athlete Derrick Baard. Although the early bird kicked them out of bed at 3.30am already and Sibo shortly got lost on the trail he won the 12k distance in a legendary time. Prior to the race Sibo received the new merchandise from Sandra, friendly sponsored by our friends at Sportcube GmbH. If it’s been the new merchandise that made him win the race? We don’t know, but it surely placed a big grin on Sibo’s face that day.
To keep Sibo busy even apart from training units we hosted another coaching session with him introducing him to the new Bloodsister Academy, planning the next steps in his sports career and defining the next goals.
On their current research about the perfect running shoe Alister and Sandra also visited Viva Barefoot, where they met CEO Stuart Hutcheson and got a personal introduction into his concept and philosophy.
